Sun Poker has been around the block many times. In its modern incarnation, it exists as a member of the world famous iPoker Network. This network is most known for being the overall member of Titan Poker, but it is also known for being the largest non-US poker network in the world. Even when sites accepting US players are included in the reckoning, the iPoker Network still scores 3rd place in the world as far as people are concerned.

Cash Game Choice – (8.5/10)
Sun Poker, like all of the other websites that belong to a particular online poker network, must follow the lead of that network in terms of establishing what their specific offerings happen to be. For this reason, the main thing that you will realize quickly about Sun Poker is that its cash game choice is the same as what the iPoker Network offers. This means that while you can expect to see all of the variants of Hold ‘Em, Omaha and Seven Card Stud available, you will not see much more. Five Card Stud is probably the only uncommon variant offered and even then you need to be lucky in order to get a game that is completely full.
Cash Game Traffic – (8.0/10)
The cash game traffic that is seen on the iPoker Network is in the range of 5000 to 6000 people on average. Out of those people, you can expect around 4000 to 5000 people to be engaged in one of the Hold ‘Em games. You can expect around 600 to 1200 of the remaining people to be engaged in one of the Omaha variants (including Hi/Lo) and you can expect the remaining players to be engaged in one of the Stud variants of poker. That being said, it is worth noting that the Stud variants are not particularly reliable on Sun Poker. You should not count on one of those games being available unless you’re on during peak periods and you’re talking about a low limit Seven Card Stud game.
Cash Game Competition – (7.5/10)
Sun Poker used to be a member of the Cryptologic Network, a network of poker sites that for practical purposes is pretty much defunct nowadays. While they were a member of that network, they acquired a number of ultra-tight players because of the way in which they offered monthly bonus plans. While some of those plans have changed with the move to iPoker from Cryptologic, the fact remains that Sun Poker still has a number of those same players. For that reason, you can expect the competition to be tighter than average.
Rake Costs – (8.0/10)
The rake schedule at Sun Poker is the same average of 5% with the maximum rake of $3.00 from a particular hand. For some hands however, you might find the maximum rake to be lower because of the nature of the limit. This type of rake schedule is neither good nor bad, but rather is exactly in line with market conditions.
Support Options – (9.5/10)
Sun Poker has obviously learned something from Titan Poker, its fellow iPoker Network website that has been given awards year after year for the high quality of service that they provide. Sun Poker provides excellent FAQ documentation, but that is only the beginning of their support structure.
You can get e-mail support by sending an e-mail to playershelp@sunpoker.com or support@sunpoker.com (or migration@sunpoker.com if you are an old Cryptologic player looking for information on changing over to the iPoker Network). Additionally, you can get telephone and/or fax support through a multitude of different numbers depending on your country of origin and your particular issue (numbers available on their website). Finally, there is also live chat support available from 12PM to 2AM GMT.
Financial Security – (9.5/10)
The iPoker Network has some of the best financial security measures in place. They have not had any major issues to date and at the current moment in time there is no reason to think that they ever will.
Deposit and Withdrawal Choices – (9.5/10)
